We’re sweet on your restaurant or bakery being part of a very unique and exciting event! It’s called “Baking for Breast Cancer” - a special dessert promotion that will benefit local breast cancer patients.
Positively Pink Packages, a local non-profit organization, has been raising “dough” for the past five years, providing free care packages to newly diagnosed breast cancer patients and their families - ensuring that no one faces breast cancer alone.
We’re asking area restaurants and bakeries to come up with their own distinctive dessert creation or choose an existing dessert to be sold as part of their menu at their restaurant during October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Each time this “special dessert” is sold, proceeds will benefit local breast cancer patients. With your help and support, “Baking for Breast Cancer” can be a huge success!
Where will the “dough” go?
The Positively Pink Care Packages
Each year, we provide 1000 educational care packages to breast cancer patients in Central New York, FREE OF CHARGE. Our signature diagnosis care package is valued at $200.00 each. For the newly diagnosed, helps the patient understand breast cancer, the choices they face, and resources available to them and their families.
The Positively Pink Wig Program
While a cancer diagnosis alone is traumatic, the prospect of losing one’s hair can be a crushing blow to a patient self image and an economical hardship. To better help patients get through this, we have developed a program that offers free wigs, free head shavings, and free wig cuttings at a professional salon in Fayetteville, NY. We have over 150 brand new wigs for patients to choose from.
