Free Hair Salon Services Offered to Local Breast Cancer Patients
Open house to celebrate launch of new program
Fayetteville, NY—Free head shaving and wig cutting services are now be available to local breast cancer patients as part of a new program partnered by Positively Pink Packages and Rose & Company Hair Design of Fayetteville. Services are provided in a private salon room. Free wigs will also be offered to patients who are not able to afford them.
The program is in need of new and used wigs and welcomes donations. Donated wigs may be brought to Rose & Company Hair Design, or mailed to Positively Pink Packages, P.O. Box 208, Fayetteville, NY 13066.
Positively Pink Packages (www.positivelypinkpackages.org) is a local, non-profit organization that provides vital resources to breast cancer patients free of charge. Established by a breast cancer survivor, Positively Pink takes vital information, coping tools and comfort aids and puts them all in one package for those recently diagnosed with breast cancer.
Rose & Company Hair Design (www.roseandcompanyhairdesign.com) is owned and operated by Rose Ruggiero, who has more than 23 years experience as a hairstylist. In 2004 Ruggerio received an award for service and dedication from the Claudia Mayer Cancer Research Imaging Center of Maryland. She has helped women find and style the right wigs as they undergo chemotherapy, as well as participate in Cuts for Cancer and other charitable organizations.
